I’m Sam, an outdoor enthusiast with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. For me, life’s greatest moments happen outside – under vast skies, on winding trails, and in the heart of new cultures. Whether I’m scaling a mountain peak, swimming in hidden waterfalls, or getting blissfully lost in a foreign city, I’m driven by the thrill of discovery and the feeling of being vibrantly alive. Sam’s Adventures is my way of sharing that passion, hoping to inspire and empower other women to embrace the transformative power of the outdoors.
My Story: Roots in the Outdoors
My love affair with the outdoors began as a child. Building dens, climbing trees, and exploring my backyard fuelled a sense of wonder that only nature could ignite. Travel became my obsession after my first trip abroad as a kid, opening my eyes to the world’s endless possibilities. But it wasn’t until 2018 that hiking stole my heart.
Tackling Cadair Idris in North Wales was my introduction to the mountains, and despite getting hopelessly lost (we all start somewhere, right?), it sparked something profound within me. The challenge, the breath-taking views, the sense of peace – mountains quickly became my sanctuary, a place where I feel fully myself.
In 2023, I embarked on a new journey: solo hiking. The thought of navigating alone had always filled me with anxiety, but I decided it was time to conquer my fears. My first solo summit was an experience I’ll never forget – the exhilaration of self-reliance, the pride in facing my doubts, and the unwavering support of the outdoor community.
My Tentbox Obsession: Road Trips Redefined
In March 2023, I took a leap and invested in a Tentbox, and it has absolutely transformed my adventures! From exploring the rugged beauty of the Pembrokeshire coast and the awe-inspiring Scottish Highlands (Isle of Skye included!) to spontaneous summer road trips around Wales, my car roof tent has become my ultimate travel companion.
The freedom to pull over at stunning campsites or secluded lakeside spots is pure magic. There’s something incredibly special about waking up with a view, steps away from a morning swim or scenic hike. While mountains hold a special place in my heart, I’m equally captivated by the allure of travel.
